Why are professional examinations conducted?

    Periodic medical examinations are not only a great way to monitor the health status of employees, but also a requirement of the Ministry of Health and Social Development. This is confirmed by the corresponding article:

    Professional medical examinations, which should be carried out periodically for people working in various organizations, allow you to monitor their health. In addition, periodic inspections are a requirement of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation.
    A physical examination is a set of medical examinations in a specialized medical institution, in which various diseases are detected that can affect the employee's working capacity, create emergency situations, infect other employees, etc. Thus, professional examinations are necessary and useful measures to prevent negative situations.

Who should undergo a physical examination

     The Ministry of Health has approved a list of professions and production factors where planned medical examinations should be organized by the management of enterprises.

      This category includes:

  • Industrial sector related to food products;
  • Educational institutions of any level of accreditation (kindergartens, schools, universities, etc.);
  • Poultry farms and livestock farms;
  • Field of medicine, pharmaceuticals;
  • Water supply organizations;
  • Hairdressing, manicure services, cosmetology centers;
  • Service providers and transport managers;
  • People who have to work in particularly difficult conditions;
  • Persons under 21 years old.

Varieties of professional examinations

    Medical center "Med-SB" is an optimal solution for professional examinations. This institution provides high-quality services for all types of professional examinations: preliminary, periodic, unscheduled.

Preliminary Examinations

The goal is to determine whether the potential employee can, due to his state of health, be engaged in the type of activity where he wants to work.
      Preliminary professional examinations are a mandatory procedure, since people, for example, those infected with HIV, people with tuberculosis or who have other infectious diseases, cannot work in medicine. They are deprived of such a right that they could not put others at risk of infection. People with lung disease in difficult conditions will not be able to work, for example, in a mine or in a factory where working conditions are considered harmful. In this regard, their health can deteriorate significantly, the disease will progress, their ability to work will decrease, which will entail undesirable consequences. This can adversely affect both the employee and the enterprise.

      Preliminary examinations are required for:

  • Persons related to transport;
  • Medical staff and pharmacists;
  • People with special working conditions;
  • Persons in contact with food;
  • Employees of the education system with any level of accreditation (kindergartens, schools, universities, etc.).

Periodic medical examinations

The goal is to detect anomalies in the state of health of individuals who belong to the mentioned groups. Periodic professional examinations are mandatory by law and must be taken into account, given this fact. They are important for subordinates, and for their senior managers. Thanks to these medical examinations, various allergic diseases can be avoided, for example, while working in laundries and dry cleaners, employees deal with chemicals and may be burned or develop allergic reaction of any kind. Such manifestations do not allow workers to continue to work in such conditions. They will need a change of working conditions or a completely new position. If this factor is not identified in time, the employee can change the type of activity, leaving the employer and demand compensation from him for damage to his health at the workplace. This is not practical for the employer. Timely organized periodic medical examination will avoid such troubles.

Non-compliance with the requirement for mandatory medical examinations is punishable with an administrative penalty

Unscheduled occupational examinations

Carrying out this type of professional examinations is usually caused by extraordinary cases that occurred during the work process. This can be an emergency, a violation of security regulations and other unforeseen situations at work, for example, an outbreak of an infectious disease among workers. An unscheduled medical examination is carried out at the request of employees or by order of Rospoterbnadzor.
    A special group includes examinations before and after hauls.
